iEthanol, The European Industrial & Beverage Ethanol Association, is a Brussels-based trade association representing producers of ethanol for industrial use in Europe. It is a non-profit organisation with 14 company members.

We are looking for a Government Affairs Manager, who will work closely with our MD, to help lead engagement and with EU institutions and governmental bodies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the public policy strategy of iEthanol with focus on industrial ethanol production in EU, trade, customs and green chemicals.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Promote political dialogue and sound relations with EU institutions, European Parliament Committees, EU Delegations, regulatory authorities and other relevant bodies;
  • Develop a broad network of experts from civil society, academia, think tanks and NGOs;
  • Develop and execute policy strategies and campaigns to shape the public and political climate of iEthanol and of the non-fuel ethanol industry;
  • Contribute to the preparation of compiling and preparation of reports, position papers and correspondence;
  • Work closely with the MD of iEthanol and prepared to assist the MD with tasks that may be required for the management of the Association.

Person Specification:

  • 3-5 years professional experience in government affairs, political campaigns, and/or consulting in a government-related environment
  • University Degree in either political Sciences, legal, or economics background or any other relevant discipline;
  • Proven track record of policy and advocacy successes towards the EU and national-level lawmakers;
  • Fluent level written and spoken English and French is essential.

Conditions of employment: Two-year contract, renewable with long-term perspective.
