Job duties
- Assume primary responsibility for research, identification, and application of federal grants.
- Research, identify and apply for corporation and foundation grants as time permits.
- Assist in creating and stewarding relationships via phone, email and in-person meetings with potential grantors.
- Keep detailed records of grants in RSTs pipeline using Excel and Raisers Edge, documenting all contact with potential grantors.
- Assume primary responsibility for completing and submitting federal and other grant reports and ongoing communication with grantors.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited 4 year college or university with major course work in nonprofit management, grant writing, communications or other relevant field of study preferred
Experience:
- Background in grant-writing required, federal grant writing experience preferred
- Previous experience with a non-profit organization preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations and/or refugee social services programs preferred
- Experience working with Raisers Edge preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- High English language proficiency and excellent communication skills both verbal and written required
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite is required.
- High degree of self-motivation and ability to take initiative
- Proficiency in the use of constituent data management software preferred.
- Excellent time management, organizational, customer service and multi-tasking skills required to deal with a diversity of projects and people in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability in handling confidential information and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Texas drivers license and minimum mandatory Texas automobile insurance coverage; Must be able to provide own transportation for frequent local travel
