Job Description

Coordinates the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants assigned to one or more international program offices. Interacts with both Development and Programs teams to ensure that grants are in compliance with private donor and foundation grants funding requirements and reports. Provides guidance and support to the Development Team on the identification and research additional grant opportunities. Supports the Programs Department with the management and administration of overseas grants.

Responsibilities

· Coordinates the planning and preparation of grant proposals for one or more departments

· Serves as a liaison between Development and Program Departments in the preparation of private grant proposals and reporting.

· Prepares and compiles all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with donor requirements.

· Administers grants to overseas JRS offices, including writing and sharing agreements, ensuring all documentation is appropriate and comprehensive, requesting funds transfers, coding funding sources, collecting regular reports, tracking and facilitating approval of extensions or modifications, and ensuring reports meet JRS/USA and/or donor requirements.

· Supports and provides guidance to JRS overseas offices in the administration and implementation of programming funded by JRS/USA.

· Maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, agreements, deadlines, and related statistical information.

· Develops and maintains a library of reference documentation, including such information as foundation/private donor funding requirements and upcoming deadlines.

· Coordinates with JRS/USA and overseas Program staff to identify and stay up to date on programmatic funding needs.

· Monitors and coordinates with both the Development and Program Departments on the administration of post-award grants to ensure that requirements are being followed; manages administrative problems and/or changes occurring during the performance period.

· Maintains knowledge of grant and private funding; disseminates and/or presents changes to the Development and Program Teams and on the impact of changes on funded operations.

· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, International Development, Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, or another related field

· At least 1-3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferably with a non-governmental organization. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

· Ability to communicate and develop key working relationships remotely with international colleagues in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Solid computer skills for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations. Experience with Salesforce and Excel preferred.

· Strong writing skills for proposals and program reports.

· Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures, and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

· Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures.

· Ability to prioritize effectively among competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· General knowledge international aid work

· Proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus.

Travel

Some international travel will be required. This is not expected to exceed 10% of candidate’s time per year.
