OPENING FOR SERVICE CONTRACT

Fundación Educación y Cooperación – EDUCO Philippines is a local branch of a child-focused international development organization, with head office in Spain. EDUCO places child’s rights at the core of its activities and supports local civil society organizations and government units in strengthening their capacities to guarantee the realization of children’s rights.

Graphic Artist for the Development of IEC Materials on handling children in conflict with the law (CICL) and children at risk (CAR)

Work Summary:

The Graphic Artist, under the direct supervision of Joining Forces Alliance is responsible for developing child-friendly IEC/ Advocacy Materials that will guide Local Government Units and agencies in the proper handling of CAR and CICL cases. The IEC materials must be contextualized to reflect the ongoing pandemic and are compatible for both web and print distribution.

Specifically, the expected output will be:

  • Content and layout of two (2) child-friendly posters both in English and Tagalog compatible for printing.
  • Content and layout of two (2) child-friendly social media cards both translated in English and Tagalog for web distribution.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree; masters is an advantage and minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant field – i.e. graphic design, interaction design, visual communication, media design, system design or others – and have proven experience in translating complex ideas into unified storytelling visuals.
  • Familiarity with child rights and issues affecting them; knowledge of CAR/ CICL situations is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with graphic design fundamentals, especially branding work.
  • Strong knowledge of design platforms, design techniques, software, data visualization.
  • Experience in print, digital, UX/UI design, data visualization.

Competencies

  • An ability to communicate complex, abstract concepts using both visual and written language.
  • Experience with working with a diverse team and being able to parse through large amounts of information in order to create simplified and clear designs.
  • Self-starter and able to time-manage oneself.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team in a rapidly-changing work environment.

*We are offering:**

  • A Service contract for two (2) months, starting October to November 2020.
  • The role will be a home based function.
