Mary’s Meals is delighted to be recruiting for a talented Head of Programme Delivery to provide effective and inspirational leadership for our teams, as we strive for programmatic excellence and to reach the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals. We are looking for an experienced, hands on, participative leader who thrives in a varied and challenging role covering, delivery of our school feeding programme.
Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of over 1.6 million children who today will receive Mary’s Meals. We have been school feeding in Liberia since 2005 and today working with both national and local stakeholders we are reaching over 158, 000 children with a daily meal in 626 primary schools located in five counties: Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado Gbarpolu as well as Bong county. Mary’s Meals Liberia also runs the Oscar Romero School for the Deaf in Tubmanburg.
Based in Tubmanburg, you will empower your teams to build and maintain strong systems and processes, ensuring the required controls are in place and are adhered to diligently across the whole programme. This is more than a role, this is an amazing opportunity to have real impact in your daily work, you will be an advocate for the important work we do and a role model for everyone involved in the MM Liberia programme. Occasional travel to other programmes and MMI head office in Scotland will also be required.
This role undertakes ‘regulated work’ with children and vulnerable adults under UK legislation which underpins our Safeguarding policy and therefore is subject to a successful PVG check or appropriate police check.
Key duties include:
- Develop, implement and maintain robust systems of internal control to ensure good stewardship of Mary’s Meals resources;
- Lead the Programmes function providing leadership and management to employees
- Responsible for effective and efficient delivery of the School Feeding Programme to ensuring the highest standards in line with the MM school feeding model;
- Support the Country Director to develop an annual strategy and programme plan within budget;
- Develop of a roadmap to direct the future growth of the programme;
- Provide strong people leadership for large, geographically dispersed teams, and maintain a positive work environment with a focus on employee wellbeing; and
- Mentoring and coaching your teams, developing our people and succession planning.
· You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to motivate and encourage collaboration across your teams. You will play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team and be skilled in developing relationships across the organisation.
You will also bring:

- Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
- Strong strategic planning for departmental growth and efficiency; and
- A positive and innovative approach to problem solving.
