Location: Erbil, Iraq (Kurdistan Region), with regular field travel
Contract: 12 months (with a possibility of extension).
Terms: Expatriate contract and terms; unaccompanied position.

In Iraq, Mission East provides assistance for both urgent basic needs for those displaced by violence as well as longer-term support for returnees and IDPs in protracted displacement settings. The position of Head of Programmes contributes to providing strategic leadership for the development of Mission East Iraq’s programme as well as coordinating all aspects of programme development and implementation across Mission East locations in Iraq. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with various INGOs and NGOs in humanitarian settings and successfully managing large programs. Bringing demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing and measuring quality standards and international humanitarian standards (SPHERE and Core Humanitarian Standard), we are looking for a senior manager with experience in managing staff and a track record of creating and leading a high-performing multi-sectoral team. Able to demonstrate sympathy with Mission East organisational values, the successful candidate will be available to start as soon as possible.
