The Programme Quality Team is at the centre of CIUK’s strategy for the delivery of high quality and impactful programming within CARE. The team delivers high quality technical assistance to CARE offices around the world in the areas of Women’s Economic Justice, Inclusive Governance, Emergency Shelter and Gender and Resilience. The team also provides thought leadership, learning as well as a global perspective to CARE programmes.
Women’s Economic Justice (WEJ) is one of CARE’s six priority impact areas as part of CARE’s new Vision to 2030. The goal for the Women’s Economic Justice impact area is that “50 million women have more equitable access to and control over economic resources and opportunities” by 2030. The current Global WEE/WEJ team, hosted by Care International UK on behalf of CARE International, is embarking on a strategy development process to refine and develop CARE’s approach to meeting this goal for the Women’s Economic Justice Impact Area.
About the role
Across the confederation we are growing a portfolio of work which delivers impact at scale and is currently focused on four inter-related and key pathways to economic empowerment: financial inclusion, women and value chains, dignified work and entrepreneurship with linkages to CARE’s work in fragile and humanitarian contexts. This role will specifically focus on shaping and defining CARE’s approach to financial inclusion within the Women’s Economic Justice Impact area as well as leading on programme quality and impact in CARE’s entrepreneurship work to ensure there is an increasing global programmatic footprint in this field.
About You
The post holder, with the Lead WEJ technical advisor who heads up the Global WEJ team , will work with colleagues across CARE International to scale up the number of women CARE is directly and indirectly empowering economically. The post holder is supported by the Lead WEJ technical advisor and the Business Development Manager and will prioritise increasing the value and impact of CARE’s WEJ programme portfolio by focusing on, bidding for, winning and delivering world class programmes.
You are a self-motivated and experienced expert on Women’s Economic Justice, with expertise in financial inclusion and/or entrepreneurship. You have a track record of inputting technical advice into large, successful donor projects, working with country and regional offices, companies, governments and international organisations in a supportive manner. You have a strong understanding of the key policy areas and cross cutting themes in relation to women’s economic justice and are able to contribute to strategic thinking and research development on the key barriers to women’s economic justice.
You are passionate about programme quality and are able to oversee the development of best practice programme technical resources, materials and knowledge products to improve policy and practice. You are confident at building strategic relationships and partnerships and will be able to support the WEJ team to develop and outwork a new strategy and operationalisation plan in response to the Agenda 2030 vision.
