Health Development Officer – FL-0685-02

The Health Development Offi cer (Senior Infectious Diseases Advisor) is a member ofthe ETD within ID. S/he is responsible for providing operational, administrative, and technical leadership for GHSprogram activities. S/he is serving as Agreement Offi cer’s Representative (AOR) and Technical Advisor foragreements and awards that will provide assistance to fi eld missions in Africa, Asia, and Central/South Americain the area of viral discovery and characterization and which address infectious disease threats overall. TheSenior Infectious Diseases Advisor will manage and work with USAID partners to support host-countryinstitutions and staff in identifying sampling locations (based on risk along chains of transmission), detecting andcharacterizing unknown viruses, and ensuring data and analyses are shared with in-country and global stakeholders, and publicly with the global health community. S/he is responsible for representing the Bureau ininteragency working groups and serving as a liaison with other USAID Bureaus.
