Are you a senior health professional with significant humanitarian experience?

UK-Med is a humanitarian charity that has been responding to disasters for thirty years. We train medical teams, both in the UK and worldwide, so they are ready to respond when epidemics, conflict and natural disasters hit. When Ebola struck West Africa in 2014 we recruited and trained UK doctors and nurses who helped local medical teams and other NGOs to bring the outbreak under control. We are core partners, providing the clinical component of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) in line with WHO standards.

We are seeking a senior health professional to join us as Health Director to make a significant contribution to the success of our ambitious strategic plan.

As our new Health Director, you will provide clinical, technical and strategic leadership to our portfolio of programmes and ensure UK-Med health programming meets high standards of quality. You will play a pivotal role in our Senior Management Team, planning the implementation of the current strategy through existing health programmes and by developing new programming.

Our ideal candidate will be a highly skilled health professional with significant experience of humanitarian health responses. You will be skilled in leading people and effective in building strong networks and working relationships. You will be able to manage a portfolio of complex and varied programmes, as well as contributing to organisational and strategic development.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference through your work.
