The incumbent will be responsible for:

1. Client Relationship Management / Translates client business needs into actionable workflows that can be automated using existing technologies.

  • Identifies, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders from the UNSOS, and UNSOM Missions, and translates these engagements into specific activities and deliverables.

  • In conjunction with key stakeholders from the UNSOS and UNSOM Missions aligns technological solutions to achieve the business objectives of the Missions.

  • Understands the key business drivers of identified stakeholders in the UNSOS, and UNSOM Missions, and identifies opportunities, and makes recommendations to support value realization and optimization.

  • Provides advisory services on end-user products based on a cost benefit analysis.

  • Manages the expectations and perceptions of key stakeholders in the UNSOS, and UNSOM missions.

  • Ensures that a catalogue of Information and Communication Services are appropriate to meet – -business needs of identified stakeholders

2. Service Design Management / Provides design strategies for processes targeted for improvement/automation that meets the clients needs, are user friendly, and delivers value that is measurable.

  • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders in the UNSOS, and UNSOM missions to automate critical business processes using either off the shelf tools, or through development with tools available on the Office365 platform. Two critical business processes have been initially identified for automation, namely:

  • Cost Recovery

  • Remotes Inspections Applications for COE

  • Produces quality, secure and resilient designs for new or improved Human Resource services for automation.

  • Provides business process analysis and mapping services for the Cost Recovery, COE inspection, and identified Human Resource Processes in order to deliver effective IT enabled services for clients.

  • Works collaboratively with other FTS teams to deliver the final release configuration of newly designed services, including all documentation, software, hardware, and infrastructure.

  • Tests of newly designed services prior to independent testing.

  • Provides early life support for the deployed service.

3. Continuous Service Improvement / Ensures that services remain aligned to client needs/requirements, are efficient, reduces waste, and continues to meet established service targets.

  • Designs and documents plans for introducing and managing improvements to IT service management processes and services at the yet to be established Integrated Services Support Center.

  • Designs and documents plans for managing the performance of services provided by the collocated service providers at the Integrated Services Support Center.

  • In collaboration with Sections providing services at the Integrated Services Support Center, designs and documents plans for delivering the services offered by the Integrated Services Support Center.

  • Works collaboratively with other units within FTS on proposed changes in service delivery processes, and opportunities for automation.

4. Performs other duties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of services above.

Impact of Results

The result of work of the ICT Senior Analyst (Data Analyst and Applications Developer) impacts directly on delivery of services that satisfy the requirements of UNSOS as well as the performance of the services implemented there. It will also ensure proper processes and methodologies are followed and implemented according to industry standards. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring activities associated with process automation line with the overall business targets and UN policies, rules, and regulations.

Education:**

  • Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management, Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, Communication or another related fields.
  • A first level university degree (Bachelors degree) with an additional two years of relevant experience maybe accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.Experience:
    Required:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressive professional experience in Information Systems, Communications or related field.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience working with senior leadership in aligning business needs to proposed solutions.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience developing applications using tools available on the Office 365 platform.
    Desirable: (The following experience is optional. Candidates who do not have it are welcome to apply)

  • Experience working in a multi-project environment.

  • Experience in using predictive data modeling.

  • Experience working in a military operations environment.**
    Language Requirements:**

  • For this position, fluency in English (write, read, speak) is required.

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
