UNICEF’s corporate fundraising programme is growing at a tremendous pace.  In 2020 alone, seven out every 10 partnerships signed are multi-country alliances, where UNICEF and partners are seeking to gain visibility across a number of markets to raise their public profiles.   

UNICEF is looking for an individual contractor to oversee its multi-country communication strategy for donor communication and visibility for its business partnerships.  

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the Communication Manager (Partnership Support), the individual contractor will work within the Communication and Marketing Section of PFP.  

The job will focus on communication support for multi-country and global partnerships. The work includes multi-country coordination for communication planning, developing communication assets and materials, and driving the rollout and implementation of these communication assets across markets around the world. 

MAIN TASKS 

The Partnership Communication Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

  1. Driving the coordination between national committees, country offices and partners for communication planning and implementation for multi-country partnerships. 
  2. Developing communication plans, communication assets and materials e.g. press releases, social media assets, key messages, Q&A documents and the like for these multi-country partnerships, in close collaboration with communication focal points from relevant national committees, regional and country offices.   
  3. Overseeing the implementation of agreed communication plans and activities across countries, ensuring global, regional, and national office level alignment between UNICEF and partners.  
  4. Participating in meetings to facilitate general alignment across workstreams and offices at the global, regional, and national levels. 
  5. Performing other related tasks which may be assigned by the team.  

DELIVERABLES   

  1. Timely coordination for multi-country alliances are performed to high standards. 
  2. Communication plans and partnership communication materials are drafted for approval to high standards, and in a timely manner. 
  3. Communication plans are implemented across markets following agreed timelines. 
  4. Applying UNICEF’s ethical and brand guidelines consistently in the partnership context.

Remotely, ideally working within European or US time zones. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or a related field is required. 

Experience:  

  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in the following fields: Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, Communications, Public Relations or Advertising, is required. 

  • At least two years of experience at international level is desirable. 

  • Strong project management experience working across cross-functional environments is desired. 

  • Strong experience in working with a diverse group of stakeholders, across a number of cross-cultural markets is an advantage. 

Language:  

  • Fluency in English is required. 

Others:  

  • Demonstrated ability to write press releases, develop communication plans and familiarity with social media as a marketing tool are requirements.  

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision is required. 

  • Familiarity with UNICEF and its systems and ways of working is an advantage.
