Acts as the primary security information officer for the organization. Manages a team of security professionals and vendors whose primary responsibility is to safeguard the company’s assets, intellectual property, and information systems along with developing and maintaining the information security program.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

-Develop procedures and policies designed to protect the enterprises communications, systems from both internal and external threats.

-Oversee vulnerability/risk assessments/audits and lead remediation projects on identified potential threats and risks.

-Responsible for the security architecture, access, and monitoring of the environment.

-Manage the Security Incident Response procedures and conduct Incident Response tests regularly.

-Oversee the investigations of security breaches and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches.

-Oversee employee security education and awareness program.

-Evaluate security products and vendors, and create and manage the security budget.

-Act as the point person during incidents and effectively communicate to executive management status updates.

-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, technologies, principles, techniques, and protocols.

-Develop and maintain a security roadmap with an emphasis of continuous improvement.

-Provide clear communications, set expectations, and prioritizes work for team members to ensure projects and day-to-day activities are being completed on time and within budget.

-Ensure we are compliant with regulatory requirements; working with general counsel in review of data privacy, and security language in contracts.

-Performs other related duties as required.

 

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

-Possession of a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in IT, Information Security, Computer Science, or information Systems Management, with at least 5+ years relevant experience. Or 10+ years of equivalent work experience in Information Security and infrastructure systems.

 

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

-Previous work experience in a not-for-profit, Association, and/or NGO environment.

-High-level understanding of corporate governance, risk, and compliance.

-Experience with security solutions that address all disciplines of security that include but not limited to:

identity management, threat intelligence, intrusion detection and data loss prevention.

-Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively lead and manage employees and who has a strong understanding of information technology and security, but who can also communicate complicated security concepts to technical and nontechnical employees at all levels of the organization.

-One or more of the following is a plus:

• CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

• CISM – Certified Information Security Manger
