Overview
Operation Christmas Child (OCC) International, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is searching for an Instructional Designer to serve at our IHQ in Boone, NC. Come join an amazing team and help be a part of advancing God’s Kingdom to the nations!
A day in the life of an Instructional Designer:
At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.
In the role of Instructional Designer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Develop a global onboarding and training program to equip staff and volunteers, ensure consistent methodology, manage training deliverables, and apply a holistic approach to learning design
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams to design eLearning and in-person training
- Select best training methodologies to use to ensure the product meets desired outcomes
- Develop storyboards and write scripts, learning assessments, and evaluations for eLearning modules
- Work closely with Global Programs Team leadership on the identification, selection, and management of vendors to accomplish the design and management of OCC’s e-learning initiative
- Support rollout of training and materials to staff and volunteers
- Equip Global Programs Team and field teams to lead effective trainings
- Serve as a project manager for special projects within OCC
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, After Effects, Premier) and Articulate Storyline 360
- Ability to leverage Learning Managements System (LMS) functionality to enhance user experience
- Effectively apply instructional design models in eLearning design
- Strong communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
- Highly flexible and able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating timelines
- Team-minded, facilitating a collaborative spirit
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and four (4) to six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. Requires relevant professional certifications in instructional design, managing a learning function, and/or facilitation. Experience managing a training function and three (3) to five (5) years’ experience training in a cross-cultural environment is required. Twelve credit hours of college level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
Job Location: Boone, NC (no remote option)
