Job Description:
Louisiana State University Eunice invites applications for a credentialed economics Instructor or Assistant Professor. We welcome individuals with a record of successful community college or university instruction and who share our commitment to professional preparation by delivering engaging freshman and sophomore level courses in micro and macroeconomics courses and other business related competencies. We seek individuals who will maintain a collegial atmosphere within the division and program while participating in assigned activities and maintaining active contact with professional organizations and clubs during this exiting time of growth for LSU Eunice in Southwestern Louisiana.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of first and second year course materials in the field of economics which entails but is not limited to; timely submission of course syllabus’ and supporting course materials to Division.
Instruction of first and second year course materials in the field of economics and other related business courses which entails but is not limited to; timely communication of all grades to students and the Division and timely submission of Student Learning Outcomes to the Division
Office hours, student advising, career fair participation, student progress monitoring, and degree transcript tracking.
Create and maintain private business and industry professional relationships to aide in the placement of students in internships and/ or work study.
Participate in University sponsored activities, committees, and programs as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Instructor
Master’s Degree in Economics from a regionally accredited institution OR closely related field with 18 graduate hours in Economics from a regionally accredited institution.
Teaching experience both in-person and on-line of economics and/ or other related business fields.
Experience with curriculum development incorporating the use of a variety of delivery methods to optimize learning.
Assistant Professor
Ph.D. in Economics or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Instructor
Ph.D. in Economics or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Community College or university experience teaching micro, macro, and survey of economics
Experience teaching with online and face-to-face course constructs through engaging technologies
Experience developing relevant business appropriate economics curriculum and delivery methods
Assistant Professor
3 years of teaching experience both in-person and on-line of accounting, finance, and other related business fields.
3 years of experience with curriculum development incorporating the use of a variety of delivery methods to optimize learning.
Salary Range:
$38,000 -$45,000
