Mercy Hands Europe (MHEurope) is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious organization registered in Geneva, Switzerland in December 2019.
MHEurope is born as a sister organisation of Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH) based in Baghdad, Iraq. They share the same vision and mission but work independently of each other and are governed by different Boards of Directors and bylaws. Together these two NGOs form the Mercy Hands’ Alliance. The Mercy Hands’ Alliance comprises not-for-profit organizations that work for conflict-torn and disaster-affected areas to save lives, sustain human rights and restore a health community. Mercy Hands is also in Annecy, France.
MHEurope sustains the activities of the sister organizations and develop their own projects.
MHEurope implements humanitarian and development programs in different parts of the world, either directly through its field missions or through its sister organization or other local partners (Iraq, Syria, Turkey, KRI, NES).
MHEurope is offering an internship contract of 6 months, with two months of probation period.
The Intern should be someone that is already based in Geneva and has some basic knowledge of programmes managing.
Location:
Geneva, Switzerland. You will work at least 2 days from our office in Geneva.
Salary
The remuneration will be 500 CHF each month.

Tasks and Responsibilities
You will report to the Executive Director and your main role will be to allow the implementation of new projects. In details, your responsibilities are as it follows:

Coordinate the submission and development of all the new projects in the various sectors and with the various programme developers and field staff;

Reviewing the projects narratives and budgets;

Identifying suitable funding opportunities for the already designed projects or for future projects (calls for proposals, foundations, institutional funders, INGOs, UN agencies, private, etc);

Planning the deadlines;

Helping the writing of the project with new ideas;

Knowing how to draft a project starting from zero.
Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (C1-C2), and preferably, also in one of the following languages: French or German,

Be able to follow suggestions but also to work independently;

Be able to successfully manage time and to continuously meet targets;

Good knowledge of Switzerland, its actors and institutions;

Good knowledge of the MENA region context;

Good knowledge of international donors;
-
Knowledge on how to look for, and answer to a call for proposal;

Arabic language is an added value.
