The Public Partnerships Division (PPD) works to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s rights among governments and public actors around the world. Along with the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), PPD advocates for sustainable partnerships and mobilize flexible and predictable resources to achieve UNICEF’s Strategic Plan results in the context of Agenda 2030.
How can you make a difference?
- Learn to provide support and leading on several key research projects to help analyze trends and gather information on top evolving donors’ behavior and assess possible new regulatory developments and their impact on UNICEF’s activities.
- Learn to assist in reviewing existing UNICEF legal agreements and MOUs with donors and identifying possible compliance challenges.
- Learn to support in reviewing and analyzing those agreements and transform the data into ready-to use information to support risk informed decision making process.
- Learn to provide support in creating an internal online hub on SharePoint to help make information on donor requirements and conditionality’s readily available throughout the organization.
- Learn to provide Assistance with the internal online hub on Public Partnerships Risk Management (SharePoint) accessible across UNICEF to ensure it is set up in a timely manner.
- Learn to assist in monitoring and ensuring all the Public Partnerships Risk Management tools and materials developed are stored and made available in a systematic way.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years, in international affairs, political science, business management, or relevant fields in the area of UNICEF work.
- Be proficient in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.
- Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office.
- Have no other relatives in the line of authority which the intern will report to.
- A relevant background in managing projects, training or other coordination.
- Experience/skills in the use of virtual learning and delivery tools – mentimeter, zoom etc. would be useful but not essential.
- Familiarity and skills in assisting virtual workshops are considered an asset but not essential.
- Knowledge of UNICEF and the UN system is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Start date: To be determined
Workplace: teleworking within Europe time zone preferable.
Duration: 26 weeks
Visa: If travel to the United States is required, interns are responsible for obtaining their G-4 visa before traveling to New York. They will not be permitted to enter the United States without a valid G-4 visa. UNICEF will only issue guidance and a letter stating acceptance of an individual as an intern/fellow and the conditions governing the Internship/Fellowship.
Insurance: UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the volunteer’s service. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrollment in a health/accident plan prior to starting his/her work.
