Introduction
Project Summary: Solar-Powered Feeders & Aquaculture Infrastructure Deployment
1. Installation of 32 Solar-Powered Automatic Feeders
Across 8 provinces, distributed as follows:
- Eastern Cape: 2 feeders (Sarah Baartman District)
- Free State: 3 feeders (Lejweleputswa & Fezile Dabi Districts)
- Gauteng: 6 feeders (Tshwane, Johannesburg, Sedibeng, Bojanala Platinum)
- KwaZulu-Natal: 3 feeders (King Cetshwayo & Ethekwini Districts)
- Limpopo: 3 feeders (Vhembe & Capricorn Districts)
- Mpumalanga: 8 feeders (Ehlanzeni, Thaba Chweu, Waterval Boven, Emakhazeni, Bushbuckridge)
- North West: 3 feeders (Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Ngaka Modiri Molema, Bojanala Platinum)
- Western Cape: 4 feeders (Cape Winelands, Overberg, City of Cape Town)
2. Installation of 5 AI-Integrated Feeders
- Location: Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center (ATDC), Gariep Dam, Free State
3. Installation of Mini Fish Processing Facility
- Location: ATDC, Gariep Dam, Free State
4. Training Requirements
- Duration: 4–6 hours per site
- Scope:
- Equipment delivery, installation, and training must comply with South African OHS and electrical standards.
- Supplier must have capacity to:
- Install and commission equipment
- Conduct hands-on training for farmers and ATDC staff
- Provide certified trainers/technicians in aquaculture and smart tech
