THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
As a valued member of the Group Underwriting Department, the successful candidate will report to the Group Underwriting Supervisor while gaining insight into the financial risk analysis of both our current and potential clients, while supporting both our internal and external partners.
Monitor monthly renewal activity and gather information required to prepare for the upcoming renewals.
Request the preparation of required standard reports from the OSA.
Follow-up regarding renewal report with Account Executives. Once approved for distribution, ensure delivery of reports in a timely manner.
Manage renewal database and update status of activity from start to finish
File renewal and supporting documentation
Manage the loading financial information on Advantage for renewals, plan changes and new business.
Prepare EP3 statements for all applicable clients.
Provide support for the monthly Claims in Excess review
Prepare ASO reconciliations and Transfer ASO deposit calculations in coordination with the Accounting Department
Assist in improving departmental processes in-order to meet departmental/company objectives.
Manage the Group Underwriting Quote Mailbox
Manage the Group Underwriting Assistant Mailbox
Provide administrative support as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
3 years of experience in benefits and / or related industries would be preferred
Post-secondary degree or diploma.
Understanding of group benefits and administrative sales support function is an asset.
Superior organizational and planning skills.
Excellent communication and problem- solving skills with a strong mathematical acumen
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and be self-reliant, while having a focus first and foremost on the success of the team.
Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
Flexible and adaptable to changing responsibilities and business environment and ability to do so with strong attention to detail.
Passionate, have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn new tasks and teach internal partners and your teammates.
Committed, professional and take ownership & accountability.
