About the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme
DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as its aim is to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with:

Delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT;

Developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks;

Developing and investment-ready pipeline of projects;

Delivering climate change priorities;

Improving climate finance reporting; and

Accessing a broader range of climate funding.

About the Role
The PDU Officer – Adaptation will play a crucial role in addressing climate change by assisting the Department of Climate Change (DoCC) to develop and implement strategies to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and create plans to enhance resilience to climate-related challenges. The role will also assist the DoCC to support line ministries and other partners to access climate financing opportunities. The PDU Officer – Adaptation will primarily lead the development of concept notes and project proposals and support the development, implementation, and overseeing strategies and initiatives to help adapt to the impacts of climate change within government and partner organisations. The role will involve assessing risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and creating plans to enhance resilience to climate-related challenges.
About You
Essential Experience and Knowledge

Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in environmental science, climate change, sustainability, public policy, or related field
-
Minimum 2-3 years of professional working experience preferably in a similar position
-
Knowledge or experience in climate adaptation, sustainability, or related fields
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based strategies
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
-
Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and implementation
-
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to climate change and sustainability
-
Excellent command of MS-Office and ICT systems
-
Excellent networking skills with different stakeholders
-
Excellent written and spoken English
Desirable
-
Experience in climate change or environmental projects
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proactive results
-
Interest and ability to flexibly learn and adapt to new concepts
-
High motivation and ability to work independently and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of output.

Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
