Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP) sits in UNHCR’s Division of External Relations and is responsible for raising resources for the organization from two sources: Individual Giving (general public) and Leadership Giving (Corporations, Foundations, and Private Philanthropists).   
   
Duties and Responsibilities
The Fundraiser performs the following duties under the supervision of the Assistant PPH Officer and the overall management of the Associate PPH Officer:
  • Assist in generating donations from corporate organizations, foundations, HNWIs, and other private sector entities.
  • Undertake high-quality research to identify prospective major donors in Nigeria. 
  • Share the details of the pipeline with his/her supervisor.
  • Support in the cultivation and stewardship of partners in the PPH Nigeria pipeline.
  • Use contacts and networks to inspire people to become UNHCR donor and manage relationships.
  • Keep the team informed about relevant local developments in Nigeria. 
  • Undertake any other tasks as required by PSP Africa. 
Training:
  • Participate in training briefing sessions and meetings as required by UNHCR PSP Africa.
  • Maintain awareness of UNHCR’s mandate and its role as the lead organization for refugee protection work. 
Administration: 
  • Ensure accurate capturing of donors’ details are filled out accurately, legibly, and completely on the reporting sheet.
  • Ensure you report weekly activities to your supervisor. 
  • Manage and maintain iPad, and other UNHCR items in your possession. 
  • Perform other duties as required.  
Performance Monitoring:
  • Fundraisers are expected to provide quality pipelines. Renewal of contract is subject to effective performance. 
Work Hours:
  • Fundraisers shall work for 5 days in a week from 8:00 am to 5pm except on Fridays when the office closes at 12:30pm. If there is going to be any changes, the supervisor shall communicate appropriately.
Payment:
  • The payment will be made at the end of each month in accordance with grade. 
Travel:
  • Each Fundraiser is responsible for expenses incurred for travel to work every day. 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • (List the required education, work experience, expertise and competencies of the individual contractor. The listed education and experience should correspond with the level at which the contract is offered.)
Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education):
  • Completion of Senior secondary education or vocational training equivalent to (Senior secondary school level).
Work Experience:
  • (List number of years and area of required work experience. Clearly distinguish between required experience and experience which could be an asset.)
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience;
  • Proven experience working independently without close supervision;
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity;
  • Experience in answering donor/customer inquiry in person, phone or email;
  • Sales experience (added value).
Language:
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language. (In offices where the working language is not English, excellent knowledge of UN working language of duty station and working knowledge of English.)
