Mapping of Women, Peace, Security Actors and Initiatives in Sudan

UNDP Sudan is implementing the project Advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda in Sudan. The project aims to contribute to coordinated UN action on WPS while enabling the meaningful participation of Sudanese women in peace processes – especially those operating within or alongside communities directly affected by conflict and displacement. As part of this project, UNDP seeks to commission a comprehensive mapping of Women, Peace and Security Actors and Initiatives in Sudan.

The objectives of the mapping and subsequent analysis are:

a) Provide a structured and comprehensive overview of actors working on WPS-related initiatives in Sudan, including multilateral actors/institutions, international NGOs (INGOs), NGOs, academia and diplomatic missions, as well as civilian, women-led peace initiatives across the three tracks.

b) Identify gaps, overlaps, and areas of concentration within existing initiatives.

c) Analyze barriers and enabling factors affecting women’s meaningful participation and leadership in peace processes and related decision-making spaces in Sudan.

The period of the assignment is estimated to be 55 working days and will be carried out within a maximum of twelve weeks after the contract start date.
