Introduction

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Rwanda invites qualified and licensed insurance companies to submit bids for the provision of motor vehicle insurance services for the year 2026.

The insurance coverage is required for a total of fourteen (14) official United Nations vehicles operated by UNDP, UNCLINIC, UNDSS, RCO, and OHCHR. The fleet comprises a mix of vehicles including Toyota Land Cruisers, Prado, Hilux, Hiace, RAV4, Lexus, Nissan Leaf, and other official vehicles used for programmatic, operational, and security-related activities.

The required insurance coverage includes Comprehensive (Omnium) and Third-Party Liability (TPL) policies, depending on the vehicle category, for specified coverage periods within the 2026 calendar year. The insurance services must comply with applicable national insurance regulations and United Nations insurance standards.

The detailed list of vehicles to be insured including vehicle models, plate numbers, years of manufacture, insured values, chassis numbers, seating capacities, type of insurance required, and coverage periods is provided in the procurement documents.

This procurement aims to ensure uninterrupted, compliant, and cost-effective insurance coverage for United Nations vehicles, thereby supporting the safe and efficient delivery of UN operations throughout Rwanda in 2026.
