The Laramie County Conservation District (Lccdnet.org) is looking to hire a qualified individual to join our team and carry out the duties and responsibilities of a Resource Specialist. The Resource Specialist will perform a variety of tasks to include extensive outreach and work with Laramie County residents, community programs, volunteer programs, local business, local, state, and federal agencies and the media to promote resource conservation concepts and habitat enhancement and development practices within our communities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in natural resources, wildlife biology, range management, botany or similar field, or 3 years of professional experience in conservation of natural resources.
  • Computer, software, technological knowledge and mapping software skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
  • Self-starter, excited to promote natural resource management practices and concepts to various stakeholders and audiences.
  • Knowledge of habitat enhancement techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of Wyoming wildlife characteristics, identification, and habitat needs.
  • Ability to work independently in adverse weather conditions at times.
  • Reside in Laramie or Albany County within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
