Main purpose: The main purpose of the role is the timely management of financial transactions; preparation of monthly data on local staff salaries; management of personnel files and HR documents; and ensuring that FCDO policies relating to finance and HR are adhered to. We are looking for a self-starting, organised and reliable colleague who is ready to collaborate with Embassy colleagues to deliver an effective service and achieve UK objectives.

- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and with three (3) years of experience in a financial management role
- Excellent / Fluent communication skills in English (both written and spoken) is essential. Able to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and budget monitoring, including accruals/resource accounting and financial reporting
- IT skills (including proficiency in MS office packages i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
- Organisational skills and good attention to detail
- Good interpersonal relations – able to deal with all staff and teams within the embassy
- Proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines. Strong multitasking, organisational, and time management skills, with excellent attention to details
- Strong analysis skills, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
