The British Embassy in Bucharest is looking for an enthusiastic Intern to support the work of the Communications Team. The Communication Intern will assist with overviews of current affairs and the management of the Embassy’s social media pages, with the chance to lead on their own projects and events. The Intern will provide support for the Communications team, mainly on media monitoring, social media work and events organisation and promotion. This is a great opportunity to build contacts, see how an Embassy runs and to engage with the Ambassador. |

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months (35 hours net per week). Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked.
The annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Romanian / UK public holidays per year.
The monthly salary is 4050 RON gross. An individual personal development plan will be agreed with the successful candidate, which may include training outside Romania. The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance, and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of 30 working days.
All applicants should have a pre-existing legal status to live and work in Romania. The British Embassy does not facilitate/sponsor visa applications and work permits. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to terms and conditions service according to Romanian employment law.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Romania and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in this country.
