Who are we?
The Office of the Governor of Gibraltar is part of the UK’s global diplomatic network and is currently recruiting a Corporate Services Officer to join its Corporate Services team.
Main purpose of job:
In this role, you will provide practical day‑to‑day support to the Governor and the Governor’s Office by helping deliver key corporate services across estates, basic IT support and procurement. You will play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of the Convent and its residential properties by supporting maintenance planning, monitoring health and safety compliance, coordinating with contractors, assisting colleagues with IT equipment and simple technical issues liaising with the central support team in London to help resolve, and helping manage purchasing processes.
You will receive on‑the‑job training and be supported by an experienced line manager while working as part of a small and collaborative team. As a new member of staff, you will complete a workplace induction alongside mandatory e‑learning courses covering key areas such as diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and fire safety. Dedicated IT support training will also be provided, including attendance at a two‑day in‑person training course held at the British Embassy in Madrid.

Roles and responsibilities:
Estates & Health & Safety (60%)
- Helping ensure the Convent and residential properties are safe and well maintained.
- Planning and organising routine maintenance works.
- Liaising with contractors for repairs and servicing.
- Monitoring utilities and keeping basic estates records up to date.
Providing first‑point IT assistance (20%)
- Acting as the local point of contact for staff IT needs.
- Understanding day‑to‑day issues and liaising with the central IT support team in London.
- Helping set up accounts or replace/maintain IT equipment when needed (with direction from Technical Support in London).
- Keeping track of IT equipment and devices.
Procurement (10%)
- Making small purchases using the Government Procurement Card.
- Raising purchase orders and keeping records up to date.
Other Corporate Functions (10%)
- Supporting office processes and ways of working.
- Assisting with learning and development activities.
- Managing stationery stock and supplies.
- Supporting diplomatic mail administration.

Our Ideal Candidate shows:
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken upwards of C1 level as per CEFR*).
- Demonstrable work experience in Administrative role or experience in office tasks.

This is a full time position with an initial fixed term contract of 24 months of 41 (gross) working hours per week.
The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary of £2,235Gross (12 instalments).
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of six months.
Staff recruited locally by the Office of the Governor in Gibraltar is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local employment law.

Working Patterns: This role will offer flexible working of 41 hour week. Flexible work schedule should be first agreed with Line Manager.
