The Role
This role sits within the Development Team, working closely with the UK Delegate to the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC). You will play a central role in promoting UK international development and gender equality priorities, influencing policy discussions at the OECD and ensuring UK policymakers benefit from OECD evidence, analysis and expertise.
The role requires strong collaboration across UKDel, UK-based departments, the OECD Secretariat and other OECD member delegations. You will support the UK DAC Delegate through high-quality policy advice, briefing and coordination, and will represent the UK at formal OECD meetings when required. You will also manage key corporate responsibilities, including budget oversight and acting as Programme Responsible Officer (PRO) for the UK’s financial contribution to the DAC.
What You’ll Do
Policy leadership and representation
- Support the UK Delegate to the DAC on international development policy.
- Lead on preparation, briefing and follow-up for OECD meetings.
- Represent the UK at formal DAC and OECD meetings in the Delegate’s absence, articulating UK positions to large and senior audiences.
Stakeholder engagement and influence
- Build and maintain effective relationships with counterparts across OECD delegations, the OECD Secretariat and UK Government departments.
- Influence discussions and outcomes to advance UK development and gender equality priorities.
Gender Equality lead
- Act as the UKDel lead on gender equality.
- Coordinate closely with UK-based policy teams, other UK Missions and OECD colleagues to align positions and share intelligence.
Programme and budget management
- Manage UKDel’s budget, including forecasting, tracking spend and reporting to senior management.
- Act as Programme Responsible Officer for the UK’s financial contribution to the DAC, ensuring programme documentation remains accurate and up to date.
Corporate contribution
- Support delegation-wide priorities, including Ministerial visits, events and OECD Ministerial Council Meetings.
- Contribute actively to UKDel’s corporate objectives, team meetings and wider initiatives.

Our ideal candidates shows:
- Full professional proficiency in English and French (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*);
- At least 2 to 3 years’ experience working on policy and/or programmes management; and/or interest in working on international development and gender issues;
- Excellent reporting/drafting skills;
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with proven ability to manage, plan and prioritise tasks and workload;
- Flexible approach to tasks, eye for detail, discretion, good judgement and a team player;

This is a full-time, fixed term contract for 6 months. The position is based on a 35/h week. The monthly salary is 4,745.00 € (gross). In addition, staff receive meal contribution.
Estimated start date June 11th 2026.

- No Line Management responsibilities
- The jobholder is responsible for budget management for the Mission, including forecasting of spend and tracking, keeping the Deputy Permanent Representative up to date.
- Be responsible for programme management, keeping oversight of the UK’s financial contributions to the DAC.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in France and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.

Working Pattern: The position is based on a 35- hour working week.
This is a full-time position. Our team works flexibly, including some time working remotely. However, in line with current policy, the job holder will be expected to be in the office at least 60% of the week – and more often when required e.g. during events or when filming is required.
