Are you organised, detail‑focused, and enjoy supporting projects in a fast‑paced, international environment? If yes, we are now looking for a Project Management Officer to join the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in Germany.
Who are we?
The British Embassy Berlin is part of a worldwide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. Within the Embassy, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) works to grow the UK economy, support businesses to export and invest, and strengthen international trade relationships. DBT Germany operates across the Germany Network, working closely with UK and German partners, with the Project Management Office (PMO) sitting at the heart of operations to support effective planning, coordination and delivery across the team.
We aim to be a diverse and inclusive employer, welcoming to people of all backgrounds. The senior leadership is committed to ensuring that we are a supportive and fair place to work. The Germany Network values are kindness, inclusivity, honesty, professionalism and responsibility. These values guide how we work on a daily basis, and all staff must adhere to them.
Main purpose of job:
The Project Management Officer provides project coordination, operational and administrative support to enable the smooth delivery of DBT Germany’s priorities. The role supports cross‑cutting PMO activity, internal processes, events, visits, and reporting, ensuring teams can work efficiently and collaboratively.
What will you do:
- Support the coordination and delivery of PMO projects and Germany Network‑wide activities;
- Provide administrative support for budgets, procurement and internal processes;
- Work with data and reporting, including dashboards, summaries and presentations;
- Support the planning and delivery of Ministerial and senior official visits, including logistics and briefings;
- Contribute to internal reporting and decision‑making materials;
- Support events and internal/external activities across the network;
- Provide limited administrative cover for Executive Assistants when required;
- Maintain internal systems, records and documentation;
- Carry out general PMO and office support tasks as needed.
Why should you apply?
This is a varied and hands‑on role offering exposure to projects, events, data and senior engagement in an international setting. You will work at the centre of DBT Germany’s operations, gain experience across a wide range of activities, and contribute to work with real impact. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys organising, coordinating, and supporting delivery, and who is looking to develop their experience within an international government environment.
