The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is a UK Government department that promotes international trade and investment, supports UK businesses to grow globally, and champions free and open trade. DBT Denmark works closely with UK and Danish partners to strengthen bilateral trade links and support UK exporters in priority growth sectors. DBT at the British Embassy in Denmark is seeking a Senior Trade Adviser to support UK exporters operating in the Danish market.

This is a varied, outward‑facing role requiring strong relationship‑building, commercial awareness and the ability to work collaboratively across government and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support UK companies seeking to export to Denmark within construction, maritime and security sectors, with particular focus on large infrastructure projects and companies offering sustainable and circular solutions
- Deliver against DBT Denmark’s export targets and help position the UK as a competitive supplier of innovative, sustainable and circular solutions within the built environment
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with public and private sector organisations to increase exports from the UK to Denmark, identifying new export opportunities and future economic partnerships
- Develop and sustain a strong network across relevant UK and Danish industry sectors to facilitate effective export support
- Identify and prioritise high‑value export opportunities for UK companies operating in the Danish market
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the UK Government, including other teams within the British Embassy Copenhagen, Scottish Government colleagues, the FCDO (including the Science and Innovation Network), and other government departments across Whitehall
- Engage with Danish governmental departments and regional stakeholders to support bilateral trade cooperation
Why Join Us
This role offers you the opportunity to work at the centre of UK–Denmark trade promotion, supporting UK businesses to succeed in a dynamic, highly developed market, and contributing directly to UK export growth in future‑focused sectors.
