Main purpose of job:
A VVIP visit represents a significant opportunity for the British High Commission to strengthen the UK-Singapore relationship through a programme of high-profile engagements. Two key elements of the programme will be a reception and a business leaders’ dinner, bringing together senior stakeholders from government, business and wider society. We are seeking an organised, proactive and adaptable intern to support the planning and delivery of these events, as well as the wider visit programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating logistics, managing guest information, supporting invitations and stakeholder engagement, liaising with suppliers and venues, and helping to ensure events are delivered smoothly and professionally. This is a varied and fast-paced role at the heart of a major diplomatic programme. Responsibilities may evolve as planning progresses, but will include supporting the delivery of the reception and business leaders’ dinner, maintaining plans and trackers, coordinating information across teams, preparing event materials, and providing practical support during the visit itself. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of planning and delivering high-profile diplomatic events within an international environment. We are looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
