This is a 3 day per week permanent role is a truly rewarding opportunity for someone with a professional background in workplace health and safety and a strong track record in stakeholder engagement and prioritizing safety and wellbeing. It will form a vital part of the People & Capability team with a flexible/hybrid working model; working both from home and onsite from our Head Office in Narre Warren / Pakenham

The pro rata (.6) salary range for this role is between $52,703 and $56,713 pa. Due to Windermere being a not for profit organisation a Salary Packaging benefit of up to $15,900 is available to our employees.  

If this benefit is maximised the take home salary for this role is from $1,860 to $1,980 per fortnight* and the equivalent pro rata salary in the marketplace is between $59,346 and $64,085 *Note – this will depend on your personal circumstances.

The Workplace Health & Safety Advisor will be required to:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and work practices that will assist Windermere to meet all appropriate legislative Occupational Health and Safety requirements and provide a safe and healthy work environment. 
  • Assist to promote and encourage management and staff to actively participate in OHS programs.
  • Facilitate activities of the OH&S committee, including preparing agenda, minutes, scheduling meetings, developing reports and assisting the Chair.
  • Assist in coordination of Work Cover related administration 
  • Lead a coordinated response to State of Disaster or State of Emergency implemented by the Victorian State Government
  • Leading all the staff communications in emergency or crisis situations
  • Responsible for the ongoing upkeep and development of Emergency Management Plans (EMPs) at each site
  • Any other WHS responsibilities as required

Key Selection Criteria

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Tertiary or vocational qualification in Work Health & Safety, Public Health, Primary Health Care and/or equivalent experience in this field or similar
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a comparable experience
  • Well-developed risk awareness, analyses and mitigation skills.
  • Proven track record of engaging, consulting and influencing key stakeholders on complex matters
  • Demonstrated skills in reporting and developing action plans, guidelines, policies and procedures 
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ License and willingness to travel to various Windermere offices as & when required
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet timelines, targets and other key deliverables
  • Ability to use all relevant technology including tools enabling mobility and working remotely
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks
