DAI Global /Human Dynamics is recruiting for an EU-funded Support to the Secretariat of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM)project a Junior Communication and Knowledge Management Expert to support to the Secretariat of the GCoM. This is based in Brussels, for the period June 2021 – September 2024 (700 working days)

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in a discipline relevant to the subject of the project: communication, social sciences, international relations, etc. Alternatively, 3 years of proven relevant experience additional to the requested minimum of 3 years full-time proven post-graduate relevant experience to this assignment;
  • Fluent in English, excellent drafting skills
  • Basic understanding of the full project cycle development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames
  • Demonstrates detail orientation, proactive attention to outcomes and expectations, and ability to understand and effectively use information and data
  • Willing to travel during the project’s implementation when required
  • Ability to work in a team and individual
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Inter-cultural sensitivity
  • Full Computer Literacy
  • Good knowledge of internet and web communication systems and tools. Previous experience on websites development and management is an added value
  • Demonstrated knowledge/working experience on knowledge transfer systems and tools (platforms, portals, etc.)

General professional experience

  • Minimum of 3 years full-time proven post-graduate relevant experience in knowledge transfer activities related to climate change, urban development and/or environmental matters.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in international cooperation development projects and programs (preferably including at least one EU-funded project) related to climate change, urban development and energy sectors.

Specific professional experience

  • Previous experience in working with cities in the energy and climate action fields
  • Proven knowledge of international organisations, structures and cities networks operating on climate action fields
  • Previous working experience as social media manager for public or private organisations will be considered as added value;
  • Previous working or cooperation experience with the Global Covenant of Mayors constitutes an added value

Civil servants and other staff currently employed by public administrations of the beneficiary countries are not eligible to apply as experts. Experts must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities defined by the Terms of Reference.
