Job Summary:
As the Learning and Development Manager, you will leverage theories of instructional design to create and deploy internal training initiatives and support the organization’s talent development and employee engagement efforts. In this role, you will collaborate with members of the Learning and Development team and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization to curate bespoke online training modules. Devise lesson plans and strategize curriculum development, informed by best practices in instructional design within a variety of instructional contexts, including e-learning, blended learning, virtual, and in-person instruction.
You will be part of a larger HR Team that supports a staff of over 1,700 worldwide. While based in the U.S., you will support staff globally. You will be reporting to the Global Lead of Learning and Development.
This position is remote due to Covid-19, but you will be based in Washington, DC once restrictions have been lifted.
Job Responsibilities:
Instructional Design and Development 70%
- Collaborate with teams and subject manager experts to drive the design, development, and implementation of learning initiatives
- Develop storyboards to create online training modules
- Use design principles to create robust graphics, audio-visual materials, and interactive content to support learning objectives
- Create and implement project plans to ensure timely delivery of training materials and support the implementation of learning initiatives
- Create and implement communication plans to provide regular and responsive support to managers and employees participating in training initiatives
- Partner across the Learning & Development team to ensure program alignment against the L&D roadmap
Talent Development and Employee Engagement 30%
- Support the ongoing implementation of the Institute’s global onboarding program and its flagship leadership and people management course
- Define, collect, analyze, and present data to support project goals and initiatives
- Assess current L&D options for early career professionals; based on the needs assessment, design and drive the development of initiatives to further develop staff
- Demonstrate interest and eagerness to mentor and assist in the professional development of junior staff members
- Design and lead (virtual and in-person) teambuilding workshops with global teams
Job Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in human resources, adult education, technology education, or another related field (or Bachelor’s degree with additional 2 years of experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience
- Strong background in learning theory, course, and curriculum development
- Excellent oral and written English skills and interpersonal communication skills; editing skills strongly preferred
- Team player and able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Strong MS Office skills Skills
- Systems: Willing to quickly learn/use Articulate Rise/Storyline, PowToon, MS Teams, Zoom, and Litmos (LMS)
- Creativity: Interest in designing and creating visually-rich materials, having solid facilitation skills

- US work authorization is required for this position
Potential Salary:
$59,000 – $77,000. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
