Lecturer in History of Art and Architecture


The Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for temporary, part-time lecturer position(s) for the 2021-22 academic year. Courses needed may include a large lower-division lecture course on Islamic Art; upper division courses on Contemporary Art; Museum Practices; and Museum Studies; undergraduate seminars, one in Museum Studies and another in Architectural History. The fields to be taught may include the following: Islamic art, contemporary art, museum studies and architectural history.

The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

An MA in History of Art/Architecture or a related field, and one year of teaching experience required at the time of application.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

1-3 years of teaching experience

Preferred qualifications

A PhD in History of Art and Architecture or a related field is desirable.
