Job Summary
The University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for an Instructor position in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA) with a focus on American politics and a background in either public administration OR political theory/political philosophy. This position will be split between the Cumming and Dahlonega campuses at UNG. The successful candidate will teach in multiple formats, but their primary teaching responsibility will be face to face with the potential of offering an occasional class in the online format.
Responsibilities
Teaching 15 semester hours per semester (5/5) including core classes for the department. Courses will include: primarily American Government, and maybe other core classes based on departmental needs. Depending on the area of specialty the candidate may teach one upper division class in their area of focus be it public administration or political theory/philosophy.
Preference will be given to candidate who:
- Have demonstrated experience teaching American government.
- A willingness to engage in on-line instruction
- Basis and teaching experience of general upper division courses in either public administration or political theory / philosophy.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in political science, public administration or policy, or related field.
- Must have a successful teaching background and must submit teaching evaluations.
