As a critical member of the Legal Department, this position provides paralegal and executive assistant level support to the diverse activities of the Legal Department, and supports CARE business units in matters relating to immigration, anti-terrorism compliance and related procedures, country office legal documentation support, and other areas as necessary. The position provides support and advice to the organization on various areas of legal and compliance work, and requires engagement of internal or external legal counsel, as necessary. Independent judgment is a necessity and superb organizational skills are required.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree
  • At least 8 years prior experience working as a compliance professional or paralegal
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent legal research skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a wide range of internal and external clients at multiple professional levels
