The Institutional Fundraising (IF) team seeks applicants for the position of Institutional Fundraising Manager to help direct PSI’s fundraising activities worldwide with foundations, bilateral, and multilateral donors. PSI’s IF team is part of the Global Fundraising Department, and offers assistance to field-based programs when responding to the US government, DFID, KFW, Global Fund, corporate, foundation, and other donor requests for proposals. IF also provides additional fundraising support to PSI country platforms facing funding shortfalls and increasingly will support fundraising for new health areas. The team also builds the capacity of PSI country platforms to prepare proposals. The IF Manager will be based in Washington, D.C., with approximately 10-20% overseas travel, and report to the Senior Manager, Institutional Fundraising.

Responsibilities
Your contribution
The IF Manager is a demanding, challenging and exciting role, requiring a dynamic individual with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, excellent writing skills, a sharp focus on details, and demonstrated experience leading teams in complex processes. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading proposal development and writing on strategically important bids, including facilitating strategy discussions, drafting the narrative (including executive summary, technical approach, staffing and management, monitoring and evaluation, organizational capabilities, etc.) and incorporating reviewer feedback.
- Traveling to provide technical assistance to the field programs as needed for proposal development/capacity building.
- Leading capture planning for upcoming proposals.
- Leading PSI inputs on sub roles for partner-led proposals.
- Leading projects that contribute to PSI’s systems for identifying and pursuing new business, including proposal process improvements.
- Reviewing and copy editing proposals led by technical and field teams.
- Supporting copy editing and formatting proposals.
- Providing mentorship and training to junior NBD staff.Qualifications

The basics
- Bachelor’s degree required; Relevant Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MPA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience related to international development (international health preferred)
- Demonstrated experience contributing to proposal development or fundraising/grantwriting
- Advanced understanding of donor compliance (priority donors preferred – USAID, DFID, GFATM)
- Proven writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Proven strategic planning and strategy facilitation skills
- Problem solving and negotiating skills
- International experience strongly preferred

The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor, sound judgment, and commitment to international development. The ideal candidate will also exhibit the ability to work independently, with superior organizational skills and attention to detail. Developing country work experience and foreign language skills (esp. Spanish, French, and Portuguese) would be great! French speakers strongly encouraged to apply.
