The USAID-funded Workplace Advancement for Gender Equality (WAGE), implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (www.tetratech.com/intdev), is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Communications Specialist. This position will be located in either the main office in Burlington, VT or Arlington, VA, but US-based remote work arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

The MEL and Communications Specialist will work under the direction of the MEL Research Manager and in close collaboration with the Communications Director to synthesize, analyze and utilize quantitative and qualitative data obtained through monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to develop impact stories, case studies, and/or oral presentations. This position will also support the project’s collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) plan and facilitate the sharing of best practices among partners and other key stakeholders. This is a full-time position through July of 2024.

Responsibilities:

* Manage the synthesis of monitoring and evaluation results and their translation into impact stories, case studies, and/or oral presentations

* Assist in the preparation of evaluation findings, reports, and articles for appropriate audiences/stakeholders

* Regularly pitch impact /success story ideas and flag opportunities to share new or emerging data on social media

* Support the implementation of project’s collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) plan in collaboration with the MEL and Research Manager, to ensure that the project’s CLA approach is applied with consistency and rigor

* Work with the leadership team to apply program learnings to share best practices with partners and key stakeholders

* Facilitate sharing of Best Practices among partners (coordinating cross-pollination and a community of practice)

* Promote partners’ achievements/learning via webinars or case studies

* Identify mentoring or knowledge-sharing opportunities and share success stories.

* Conduct secondary research and synthesize evaluation reports to share high-level findings and recommendations

* Other related tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

* Degree in Evaluation and Applied Research, Organizational Development, International Development, Business, or relevant field, or an additional three years of experience in lieu of a graduate degree

* Minimum of three years of experience developing and/or implementing monitoring and evaluation tools and systems

* Minimum of three years of experience leading or supporting research efforts for development agencies and organizations, or gender-research oriented programs

* Experience in monitoring and evaluation with an emphasis on Collaboration, Learning and Adapting (CLA) of international development programs and working with development agencies and organizations, government officials, private sector actors, project beneficiaries, and project staff

* Proficiency in another language, especially French or Spanish preferred but not required

* Extensive knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and tools for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), including impact evaluation. USAID experience preferred

* Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and ability to work well on a team

* Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, including the ability to present and tailor complete data and findings to a range of stakeholders such as program partners and high-level decision-makers;

* Proficient in Microsoft programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and the ability to use various commercially available statistical software programs

* Ability to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
