Operation Heal Our Patriots (OHOP) is a marriage-focused ministry where the Chaplains and spouses have opportunities to serve together to model biblical marriage. The OHOP Mentor walks alongside OHOP couples and encourages them in their marriage and in their walk with Jesus Christ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Co-leads marriage retreats with the Chaplain in assigned region, Alaska, and other regions as necessary.
• Provides pastoral care and marriage counsel with the Chaplain to each OHOP couple as appropriate.
• Mentors and encourages veterans and spouses of the same gender.
• Models and exemplifies a Godly marriage and strong Christian principles to staff and OHOP alumni.
• Builds and develops purposeful relationships with each new OHOP couple in assigned region.
• Co-leads other OHOP gatherings with the Chaplain, to include annual reunions, area regional meetings (ARM), crisis responses, and other OHOP events.
• Co-leads OHOP Bible studies with Chaplain and provides one-on-one discipleship as requested.
• Prepares spiritually and academically for teaching or facilitating OHOP events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and at least one (1) year experience leading Bible study or in group facilitation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Domestic travel is required.

On-Call position working up to 1000 hours per year.
