Paralegal (Legal Compliance)

Paralegal (Legal Compliance)

The role

Save the Children International legal team is looking to hire a paralegal in a permanent role for its Legal Compliance function, to start as soon as possible.

As team of 14 lawyers, we support a large international charity, which works on the ground in over 120 countries to help children affected by crises, as well as those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. In 2020 alone, Save the Children’s combined revenues amounted to more than US $2.2 billion.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with paralegal experience, has a law degree, or is currently completing/has completed law school (the LPC or BVC or equivalent), and is interested in working in the NGO or charity sector.

The role entails supporting SCI’s Legal Compliance function (which is made up of 4 lawyers within the broader legal team) primarily in meeting its regulatory and other legal requirements around reporting of serious incidents. The successful candidate will have the opportunity engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including different SCI reporting and monitoring functions (such as fraud, safeguarding, safety and security), SCI’s Board, other organisations within the Save the Children movement, and the Charity Commission, Met Police and CPS. The candidate will also contribute to other areas of compliance work, assisting the team with conducting legal research, updating policies, and supporting the team’s project work on compliance topics (in the areas of safeguarding, fraud, bribery and corruption, sanctions, terrorism financing, data protection, modern slavery, export controls and anti-money laundering).
