Hydrogen Europe is the European association representing the interest of the hydrogen and fuel cell industry and its stakeholders and promoting hydrogen as an enabler of a zero-emission society. With more than 260 companies and 27 national associations as members, our association encompasses the entire value chain of the European Hydrogen and fuel cell ecosystem collaborating with the European Commission in the Fuel Cell Hydrogen Joint Undertaking.

We are looking for a communications expert – and here are the main responsibilities:
- Identifying newsworthy stories across the organisation as well as with our members
- Writing and editing articles, newsworthy press releases as well as edit interviews in English
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with journalists
- Handling and coordinate press enquiries and position our team members
- Evaluating the impact of Hydrogen Europe’s press presence
- Prepare the daily media monitoring report for the team and the members
- Repackaging content for press and social media activities
- Involvement in the planning and organising of campaigns
Requirements:
- At least 2 (two) years’ experience in a media-relations role in an energy-based environment, or as a journalist in an energy-related field, experience in the hydrogen sector is welcomed
- Alternatively: A strong interest in energy and sustainability
- Experience in preparing and processing content for social media
- An excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly about complex scientific issues
- A university degree or relevant professional qualification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to quickly build and maintain professional networks.
- A strategic, and “out-of-the-box” approach to communications
- Be a pro-active, independent thinker and creative member of the communications team
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector
- Sense of humour
