Job Summary/ General Purpose of Job 

Accountable for matters related to data systems, workflows, governance, integrity, analysis, visualization, and reporting. Conduct and support leadership on regular data reporting to funders, ABA, and other entities, as well as with special reports as designated by Division.
 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

• Manages and maintains data systems; including but not limited to systems for the collection, governance, visualization, analysis, and reporting of data.

• Develops and provides resources, trainings and guidance to assist staff with accurate and timely entry and reporting of data. Investigates data discrepancies, troubleshoots data system malfunctions, and utilizes data to explore suspected trends.

• Ensures data is handled securely and that all aspects of data flows comply with funder requirements.

• Tracks and maintains documentation of data related to provision of Division services as well as data useful for  reporting and responding to inquiries as to what Division service providers encounter in their fieldwork in detention.

• Works with organization leaders to create new data flows or modify existing data flows. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors and stakeholders related to data management and reporting.

• Conducts and supports leadership on regular data reporting to funders and other entities, as well as with special reports as designated by Division. Employ coding/programming to enhance and/or automate various aspects of Division’s data flows.

• Works in accordance with other teams for continuing vital operations in the midst of disruption or disaster, and assists with disaster recovery.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

Possession of a bachelor’s degree, or accumulated college hours, in information systems, or related field, or commensurate work experience in database maintenance, data tracking and reporting.

• Advanced SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools.

• Prior experience working in an office setting.

• Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Excellent to superior verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical terms plainly; tactful interpersonal skills.

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, OneDrive, teams). 

• Familiar with database design and maintenance, data collection, and reporting.

• Able to distinguish between technical language and common language.

• Able to work well in a team setting or individually.

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

• Possession of a master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, a commensurate work experience in database maintenance, data tracking and reporting.

• Previous experience working with R and Python, Crystal reportsPower BI, tTableau, etc.

• Previous experience regarding immigration or detention.

• Prior non-profit experience, particularly involving field work or in off-site work locations.

• Proficient English and Spanish in written and spoken forms.

Physical Requirements 

Continuously operates a computer and other office machinery, such as telephone, copy machine, and computer printer. Light physical labor able to lift/move up to 25 pounds.

Travel

As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 5% of the time.

Hiring rage based on experience: $38,850.00 to $42,347.00.
