The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen offers a
Professorship for Chronic Inflammation and Cancer Research
to be filled at the earliest possible date.
The professorship is associated with the founding directorship of the M3-(Malignoma, Metabolome, Microbiome) Institute as its scientific and organizational head (according to the statute). The successful candidate is expected to synergistically develop integrative research in the areas of malignoma, metabolome, microbiome, and to teach it. A proven research focus in translational oncology and preclinical research is expected, as well as relevant expertise in the fields of metabolism, microbiome and inflammation. The proven scientific performance of the candidate should be documented by publications in leading journals in the field. Also expected are the ability and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, specifically in the design and management of the Faculty of Medicine’s interdisciplinary research networks as well as participation in them. The successful candidate must therefore have experience in managing a large interdisciplinary team and major collaborative projects.
In the field of teaching, comprehensive experience and involvement are expected, as well as active design of lectures and other teaching formats, particularly in view of innovative curricula in the degree programs taught at the Tübingen Faculty of Medicine. The position has a teaching load of nine hours per week (during lecture periods).
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent international degree and postdoctoral qualifications equivalent to the requirements for tenure. This includes evidence of teaching effectiveness.
