The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a:

Project Associate, Libya at 100% Based in Tunis
Starting date: as soon as possible

HD has been working in Libya since 2012. HD works with all parties to the conflict to de-escalate tensions, reduce the risk of conflict and establish a conducive environment for peace negotiations. The Project Associate (PA) will contribute to the Libya project by providing assistance to the Project Officer and Project Manager.

The PA will have the following responsibilities:

· Assist in the development of HD projects and activities through analysis and substantive support;

· Contribute to HD’s understanding and analysis of the situation in Libya by providing updates on developments in the country;

· In coordination with other staff, draft narrative/review reports for all grants of the project, including monthly updates, interim and final reports to donors;

· Assist in ensuring the project is reported on in a timely and qualitative manner, in accordance with grant and donor timelines and requirements;

· Create and maintain a detailed calendar of donor reporting requirements;

· Attend meetings when requested and assist in taking minutes, drafting correspondences and collecting and compiling meeting information;

· Ensure the smooth running of HD events and meetings in the MENA region, including through on-site support, when necessary.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

· At least 2 years of experience in a relevant function;

· Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs or mediation;

· Knowledge of and commitment to conflict resolution, as well as political and cultural knowledge of the Middle East region;

· Fluency in Arabic and English required;

· High quality writing skills, strong research and information analysis skills.

Personality: The successful candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines. S/he must be a flexible team player, be proactive and have strong social, communication and organisational skills.
