Project Coordinator – EU Project (Nationals Only)
The Role
The post is responsible for implementing the 30-month EU project entitled Strengthening the Capacity of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and Other Civil Society Organizations Towards Effective Civil Society-Local Government Engagement and Improved Government Accountability for Persons with Disabilities, Especially Children in the Cities of ParaƱaque and Taguig, and Municipality of Pateros. The project is in close partnership with co-applicant Affiliated Network for Social Accountability (ANSA). The project aims to: strengthen Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs)/ civil society organizations (CSOs) CSOs, and parents and children’s groups through capacity building, organizational strengthening and improved access to information and evidence to enable them to engage Local Government Units (LGUs) through dialogue and meaningful participation in decision-making.
The post holder is accountable for the administration and fiscal management of the project; the direction, supervision and evaluation of staff; planning implementation and evaluation of project activities. He/She will oversee day-to-day implementation of the project including spending, consolidation of reports and overseeing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) activities. S/He will coordinate and ensure integration with other SCP program teams within the project areas. S/He will manage the partnership with ANSA, review ANSA’s project reports and monitor ANSA’s progress against the targets. The PC will design and implement capacity-building activities for and provide technical assistance to ANSA and LGUs, OPDs and other allies, and conduct networking and advocacy activities with partner LGUs.
This post requires understanding of human and children’s rights, child rights governance, child protection, knowledge and skills in facilitating effective meetings and workshops; skills in networking and partnership building; and basic skills in program management, including budget management. Strong oral and written communication skills are required for this post.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in program management or in implementing programs in
- development or humanitarian contexts
- Familiarity with children’s rights and children’s issues
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good interpersonal and communications skills
- Good writing skills; able to write reports and briefing papers
- Proven ability in facilitating meetings, workshops, and other group processes
- Basic skills in program management
- Highly organized, with good attention to detail and developed ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight
- deadlines and organize work
- Proven experience of using MS office application (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and desk-top
- publishing software
- Willingness to travel frequently
The job holder should develop a strong understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and should be committed to its principles and objectives. Contract length: Fixed term position until December 31, 2021 based in Quezon City
