About the Role
As Project Coordinator for Health Informatics & Research you will ensure that IMPACT (our Health Information System), COMPASS (our modular guidelines system), and other systems and processes are able to provide timely guidance for programming and decision-making across the movement. You’ll also ensure currency and relevance of COVID-19 and Nutrition guidelines hosted on our COMPASS platform is fit for purpose, bug-free, and contains up-to-date knowledge that can be used in the field.
This role will require you to regularly collaborate with Country Offices to determine their data requirements and deliver data management solutions that fit their needs. You will also collaborate with external stakeholders, including academic institutions and other humanitarian actors. As Project Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to learn interactive database administration and develop knowledge of public health systems in humanitarian responses.
Key accountabilities
In addition to the above, you will:
- Develop, customise, and co-manage an instance of DHIS2 with the HMIS Capacity Building Officer
- Develop and manage the health informatics SharePoint environment and enforce best practices in collaborative working within the team
- Collate, edit and produce, and help design and implement dissemination strategies for, various types of information (newsletters, training brochure, reports, and publications) to internal and external audiences
- Advise the Humanitarian Technical Teams Programme Advisor on team budget forecasts, cost recoverable spend, and BVAs
- Liaise with contractors and document requests to contractors from the IMPACT team, follow-up in the case of non-response, and keep track of service hour use.
Person profile
To be successful you will demonstrate a commitment to providing quality support to public health and MEAL professionals across the Save the Children movement, and ultimately be motivated to deliver the best possible outcomes for affected populations in humanitarian contexts. In addition, you will:
- Have excellent computer literacy and be confident in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and e-mail and electronic diaries
- Be a self-starter and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint navigation and site and list management
- Have knowledge and direct experience of adult learning approaches and methodologies, including active learning and informal assessment to identify gaps in user capacity
- Be able to demonstrate excellent facilitation skills, and have the ability to train colleagues in person and remotely.
You must have fluency in written and spoken English as well as a permit to work in the UK.
