ROLE PURPOSE:

The FlexOM Project Lead will head a team responsible for broadening the range of Operating Models required for the future of Save the Children International and includes structure, our operational processes and systems and how we can ensure we deliver on our 2030 commitments for children in the most efficient and effective way. There are a lot of pressures on the sector that we expect to continue to increase as we move towards 2030 including regulatory, political and development trends that we need to be able to continue to respond to in order to ensure that we are able to access funding to support the most vulnerable children.

The Project Lead ensures the engagement of a broad set of stakeholders across Save the Children towards the vision and objectives of the FlexOM Project. He/she is accountable for overall project delivery and ensures that the initiative is adequately resourced; delivers on time and on budget and that, progress on the project is communicated in an impactful and timely manner. It is essential that the Project Lead has extensive Organisational Transformation experience and is able to operate at a strategic level right down to the detailed design and implementation. The role requires engagement with the most senior stakeholders of our organisation and beyond as well as strong line management capabilities to define the way forwards and guide the team removing blockers as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • At least five years’ experience in a senior leadership role, working with diverse groups across multiple geographic locations
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders from Board right down through organisations
  • Extensive experience leading Target Operating Model projects for Global Organisations
  • Ability to be strategic as well as hands on and practical to deliver the required outputs
  • Experience line managing diverse teams providing direction, coaching and support
  • Track record of delivering quality outputs on time with buy-in from global stakeholders
  • Experienced project/programme manager
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • High degree of cultural sensitivity and an appreciation of the varying levels of readiness and engagement across the organizational spectrum for Coding

Desirable:

  • Non-profit sector knowledge/experience
  • Proficiency in a second core language of Save the Children (French, Spanish or Arabic)

We can offer circa £78,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours.
