Project Officer – Reach to Teach

The Role

The Project Officer is responsible for the smooth planning and coordination of multi sectoral programing in covered areas or cluster of barangays/municipalities. He/she will be the primary focal person in child protection organizing and mobilizing partners, stakeholders’ and institutions. He/she will be the on-site representative of Save the Children in courtesy meetings/planning with key stakeholders and for barangay officials and the community at large.

  1. The post holder is primarily responsible for community engagement and coordination in an assigned SCP geographical area.

  2. The post holder oversees and provide technical support to CSO partners and ensure an integrated multi sectoral program of activities is established in each barangay of implementation.

  3. The post holder will input into the area strategy, play a key role in assessments and ensure community engagement and coordination is cohesive across both the area and for all technical sectors.

The Project Officer represents Save the Children in communities and with stakeholders, e.g. community leaders, representatives from donors, government, and other agencies as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Registered Social Worker

  • Organisation, management and negotiation skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Previous experience in humanitarian setting

  • Prepared to work under pressure

  • Honest and motivated

  • Knowledge of case management

  • Capable to provide case management training to para-social workers.

  • Previous experience working with humanitarian organizations

  • Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc)

Desirable

  • At least 2 years previous experience managing people and implementing development programs with themes on Education in Emergencies, Child Protection in Conflict, Child Trafficking

  • able to work with minimum level of supervision

  • good English speaking and writing
