Experience / Training
We are looking for a candidate with:
- At least a Bachelors (or equivalent) degree in Agronomy, Agronomical Sciences, Soil Science, Crop Science, Agroecology, Applied Ecology, Environmental Sciences/Management or a related field. A Masters-level (or equivalent) degree in a similar, related, or relevant field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in field project implementation and management related to agronomy, ecosystem restoration and/or human development.
- Knowledge in Science, Conservation Biology & Ecology: Proficiency in the topics of regenerative agriculture, ecosystem services, climate change, biodiversity & ecosystem diversity, and/or water resources within agricultural landscapes considered a strong asset.
- Research & Communication: An understanding of scientific and/or economic research methodologies and the ability to summarize and communicate complex information in plain language
- Frameworks & Ecosystem Service Markets: Comfort with frameworks for ecosystem service modelling and impact metrics. Experience working with Carbon Markets and GHG accounting frameworks considered a strong asset.
- Must be fluent in English. Proficiency in French, Spanish and/or Portuguese is seen as a strong asset.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
- Strong desire to commit and dedicate his/her energy to restoring and protecting natural ecosystems and supporting sustainable livelihoods of smallholder farmer communities.
