Task description
- Support the Project Officer and Programme Manager in developing new project proposals in the IBM unit.
- Monitor expenditures and burn rates, follow up on administrative and logistical arrangements, and provide technical guidance for the implementation of several projects of the IBM Unit, in compliance with IOM policies and standards.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of the IBM Unit work plan, mainly in the IBM projects funded by PBF and EU
- Organize and participate in training activities in the border area for national authorities.
- Organize with partners awareness raising campaigns and training for civil society actors and Haitian institutions representatives on the risk of irregular migration, social cohesion, conflict resolution and the reinforcement of the binational dialogue.
- Organize binational coordination meetings with government counterparts, especially POLIFRONT, Immigration, Customs Directorates and civil society actors
7. Assist the programme and project managers in ensuring appropriate visibility of the project donors.
- Based on the information gathered from the activities, regularly coordinate with the Communication Officer to update and publish the activities in the IOM Haiti social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Ensure timely coordination of communications with donors and national stakeholders.
- Undertake duty travel, relating to project assessments, liaison with counterparts, and project implementation, as required
- Provide inputs for project reporting to Donors in close coordination with IBM Program Manager and Program Support Unit.
- Liaise with other Units (Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Fleet, Security) to facilitate the implementation of the projects.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Master degree or equivalent

Master’s degree in International Law, Political or Social Sciences, International Cooperation/Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
-
Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
24 Months
- 2 years working Experience in NGO, UN, IO or Diplomatic missions;
- Thorough knowledge of the functions of intergovernmental organizations and familiarity with IOM and the UN system;
- Field experience at national and/or international levels in the area of border management including operational experience in project development, management and coordination;
- Experience in liaising and coordinating with institutional actors (Government authorities, the United Nations (UN), etc.)
- Experience in post-crisis environments, community mobilization, humanitarian assistance and human rights;
- Familiarity with the issues of migration programmes;
- Work experience in the region or in other similar regions (experience in conflict management/resolution would be an asset);
- Proven ability to facilitate discussion in seminars and to moderate working groups;
- Previous working experience in Haiti is an advantage and knowledge of the Haitian/Dominican Republic context is an asset;
- Good knowledge of programme management cycle;
- Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, creative thinking;
- Writes clearly and effectively, adapting wording and style to the intended audience
- Experience working in binational projects will be an asset
